Thursday, May 2nd - National Day of Prayer
The National Day of Prayer is observed annually on the first Thursday in May. People of many different faiths join together on this day to turn to God in prayer and meditation. St. John’s parishioners have been invited by our neighbors, the United Church of Christ, to join them at their special prayer service on May 2nd at 10:00 AM. All are welcome.

Sunday, May 5th - Special Visitors at St. John’s
Did you hear Pastor Katherine’s Sermon about the sheep and the Good Shepherd this Sunday? Psalm 23 has always been one of my favorites “The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want”. Such a comforting picture imagining Jesus watching over us like a shepherd watches his flock. On May 5th during fellowship hour, as a special treat for our young parishioners (and also our older ones), Pam Blumhardt was able to arrange for one of our local farmers, Julie Janson, to bring in some of her lambs and baby goats which are at an age where they love to be held and petted. Please bring your kids and grandkids or invite your neighbors to join us on May 5th. I personally can’t wait.

Volunteers Needed
In order to increase St. John’s visibility in the community, our Bishop’s Committee has decided to have a booth at this year’s Clinton Summerfest & Antique Tractor Show on Saturday, June 8th, at Tate Park. We are currently looking for volunteers to help us staff the booth. A sign-up sheet is available in Lyster Hall. If you have any questions, please contact Pam Blumhardt. We are looking forward to a fun day at the Park.

May 18th - Spring Cleanup
Our Spring Cleanup this year will be on May 18 at 10:00am. At this time of the year we will focus mainly on outside cleanup, but if there is anything inside Lyster Hall, the office or the Sanctuary that you would like to give some extra attention to, please let us know. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
